Notice that Drift Correction is checked off for the ones that are not set as a Clock Source. I can choose my Sample Rate if that's important to me and see all of the different devices here and which channel they map to. So it probably doesn't matter but I'll choose this one here. Now I get to choose which one is the Clock Source which basically means which one is running the show here. One of the microphones only has a single channel.

Then here's the other one and I'll add that. Let's go in the list here and look for this microphone here and I'll add that. So I only want to look at things that have inputs. So I'm going to name it All Mics and I'm going to add here in this list all of the mics I want to include.

So you want to use the Plus button here and create an aggregate device. This also has a headphone jack for you to monitor. Then here's another one, the main microphone that I use, and there's a set of 2 outputs and 2 inputs here. Here's another microphone and this has got 1 input and 2 outputs because a lot of times microphones includes speakers or listening devices or if it's like a headset like this, of course, there are outputs. So here's one microphone and it says 2 inputs. Now here you're going to see every audio input and output device. If you just use Go to Utilities you'll go to your Utilities folder inside your Applications folder and you'll find it there or you can just search for it in Spotlight. So to do that you're going to run an app called audio midi setup. The first thing you need to do is build what is called aggregate device that's going to be a single input device that includes the channels from all of your microphones.

You can set that up using the audio midi utility that comes with your Mac and knowing how to set it up in GarageBand. So each microphone goes into it's own track. So say you want to use multiple microphones at the same time in GarageBand. Join us and get exclusive content at /patreon. MacMost is brought to you thanks to a community of supporters. On this episode I'm going to show you how to use multiple microphones simultaneously in GarageBand. Edit the video and lay down the audio from Multitrack DAW or GarageBand by exporting your mix as a song to your music collection and then importing the song into iMovie.Video Transcript: Hi, this is Gary with. iMovie provides basic editing functions and is perfectly usable for editing a simple video. If you have another phone, DSLR or Camcorder available you can always use the iPad to record the audio and then import the video from the other device via the camera connection kit onto your iPad.

Currently there is no app available for this purpose, which means you can't get the audio out of the video for processing in Multitrack DAW or GarageBand without first extracting the sound using software on a computer. Because the sound is recorded to a stereo track it may be necessary to use editing software on your computer to split the stereo track if you're recording separate intruments with each mic. This has many applications including filming Youtube videos, weddings with live bands, live gigs and promotional videos. With the MiniSonic Mic Kit connected to your iPad via the iMic the camera app on the iPad will automatically switch to recording sound through the iMic. Add a little reverb, and a bit of percussion and strings and you can produce some very impressive results! If you're a singer and acoutic guitarist for example record your vocals and guitar using Multitrack DAW and then copy and paste the tracks into GarageBand. The solution is to use both of these apps together and copy and paste between them. Unfortunately it only provides mono or stereo input recording and no facilty to split the stereo track on the other hand it does allow reverb to be added. GarageBand is great for composing songs because it provides a rich set of instruments to choose from and quantising facilities. One disadvantage of Multitrack DAW is that there is no reverb facility. If you record to a stereo track then one mic will be on the left channel and the other on the right which is fine for spaced omni recording, but not if you're a singer who plays an instrument when it is preferable to have each mic (instrument) on its own track. This means that if you are using your Mic Kit to pickup two separate sound sources then the two channels will appear on separate tracks and panned to centre.

Multitrack DAW has the advantage of allowing two channel recording to two mono tracks. There are many sound recording applications out there, but we currently recommend using GarageBand and Multitrack DAW: Requires lightning camera connection kit and LEAD7 (UniSon to 3.5mm jack) to connect the preamp to the iMic
